ANDHRA PRADESH

Nakka Ananda Babu (born 10 September 1966) is an Indian politician from the State of Andhra Pradesh. He was elected to Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly for two terms in 2009 and 2014 but lost in 2019 from Vemuru.He regained the Vemuru seat winning the 2024 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly election.

Early life and education
Babu is from Guntur. He was born to Nagendram and Pushpavathi. His wife, Nakka Satya Ratna Kumari, is a teacher.He completed his Bachelor's degree in Law in 1995 at Andhra University, Visakhapatnam. He is an advocate.

Career
Babu served as the Social welfare, Tribal welfare Minister from 2017 to 2019. In October 2020, he was appointed Politburo Member of Telugu Desam Party by TDP National President N. Chandrababu Naidu. He won the 2024 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly election from Vemuru Constituency on the Telugu Desam Party ticket which had an alliance with Bharatiya Janata Party and Jana Sena Party. He polled 94,922 votes and defeated Varikuti Ashok Babu of YSR Congress Party by a margin of 22,021 votes.
Third term (2004–2009)
He won for the third time though his Telugu Desam party suffered badly in huge Congress wave and was the only MLA elected from Guntur district in 2004 by a majority of 9,000 votes. He also worked as president for Telugu Raithu an affiliated farmers wing of Telugu Desam Party.

Fourth term (2009–2014)
Narendra Kumar won again on TDP ticket for a fourth consecutive term with a meagre difference of 2000 votes. He was elevated to position of opposition party Chief Whip in Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly.He also became the chairman of Sangam Dairy in 2010.

Fifth term (2014–2019)
He continued his winning storm in 2014 and became one of the few MLAs who won consecutively five times in Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly, with a majority of 7,761 votes. He focused on expansion of Sangam Dairy for the public.

In 2019, he lost to his opponent by only 1100 votes.

Sixth term (2024–present)
He won the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly elections 2024 by a margin of 32,915 votes, defeating Ambati Murali Krishna.
